Vitamin D3 Study

Help study a plant-based vitamin D3 — all from home in just 10 days.
See If You Qualify

This is a fully remote research study comparing a plant-derived vitamin D3 supplement with a standard reference product. Researchers want to learn how well the body absorbs each one. Taking part means a short 10-day commitment, simple at-home blood tests, and a wearable device — all managed through your smartphone.

Receive up to $20 in Amazon Gift Cards for completing study milestones. Partial payment is available if you leave early.
Short 10-Day Commitment
The study lasts only 10 days, with one simple supplement to take each morning. It's an easy way to support nutrition research.

What's Involved

You'll take one vitamin D3 supplement each morning for 10 days and wear a device that tracks your heart rate variability. You'll collect small dried blood spot samples at home at the start and end of the study and mail them back with prepaid shipping. Everything is done from home through the Alethios app.

Consent and Baseline

If you're eligible, you'll give your consent online, complete your baseline assessments, and be randomly placed into one of two study groups.

Daily Dosing for 10 Days

Take your assigned vitamin D3 supplement each morning for 10 days while wearing the device that tracks your heart rate variability.

Final Test and Payment

On Day 10, complete your final blood spot test and assessments, then return your materials to receive your gift card compensation.

What's Being Studied?

The study measures the level of vitamin D in your blood (called 25(OH)D) before and after 10 days of daily supplements. This helps researchers understand how well a plant-based vitamin D3 is absorbed compared to a standard one. The study also looks at heart rate variability as a general measure of how your body responds.
