This 30-day study evaluates how a natural food ingredient made from the co-fermentation of mushroom roots and chlorella microalgae affects digestive comfort and mood. Participants will consume a daily chocolate-flavored powder that can be easily mixed into beverages of 3 oz or less (15 kcal per serving) and will complete brief questionnaires assessing gut symptoms and mood.
Participants will mix an easy, tasty cocoa-flavored powder (under 15 kcal per serving) into their preferred beverage each day throughout the study and complete brief daily check-ins about how they are feeling in digestive comfort and mood. In addition, participants will complete two short assessments: one at the midpoint (Day 15) and a final assessment on Day 30 to help us understand changes in gut and mood health over time.

This study is looking at how a food ingredient made through co-fermentation of oyster mushroom mycelium (Pleurotus pulmonarius), microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris), and bamboo fibre may affect gut-related well-being and mood in healthy adults (ages 18+) who experience minor gastrointestinal discomfort. These ingredients have previously been studied and used in clinical settings to observe gut, immune health as well as general wellbeing.
