This is a 20-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of a daily bovine colostrum powder, run entirely from home through the Alethios platform. Colostrum has become one of the most talked-about supplements for gut and immune health. This study is designed to add to the growing body of research by generating controlled, real-world data on its impact in healthy adults.
You take your daily serving for 16 weeks and log it with one tap each evening, complete a short check-in on the same day each week, and fill in six longer surveys at Weeks 2, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 covering digestive comfort, bowel habits, reflux, immune resilience, energy and sleep. You collect a fasted finger-prick blood sample and a stool sample at home in Week 1 and Week 16, all returned in prepaid envelopes.
Complete a 21-question screening questionnaire, about 7 minutes, to confirm you qualify. If eligible, you will be emailed a link to set up your Alethios account, review the study details and sign your electronic consent form through the platform.
Complete your Onboarding to start your study including your baseline questionnaires on digestive comfort, immune resilience, energy and sleep through the Alethios platform. Your supplement tub and three kits then ship, and once you confirm receipt of all three in the app your schedule begins the next day with a fasted finger-prick blood collection and a stool collection on Day 1.
Take one scoop as shown on your tub label once a day for 16 weeks and log it with one tap each evening, plus a short check-in on the same day every week for the full 20 weeks. Longer surveys on gut and immune health run at Weeks 2, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20, take about 20 minutes and are announced two days in advance.
After a four-week washout with no supplement, complete your final surveys. Adherent participants receive up to $100 in Amazon gift cards: $25 after Week 4, $25 after Week 12 and $50 at the end of the study.
Bovine colostrum is widely used for digestive comfort and immune support, and early work points to effects on gut barrier function and immune signalling. What is far less clear is whether a daily serving changes how people actually feel over months rather than weeks, and how that compares to a placebo. This study tracks self-reported digestive comfort and immune resilience across 16 weeks of daily use plus a four-week washout, alongside at-home metabolic panels, gut microbiome samples, and passively collected sleep, step and heart rate variability data.
